The cards are made from laminated PVCA plastic. It's the same material and the same size used for making standard credit cards, but these cards are a little thinner and more flexible.

The cards can be supplied with or without a slot or punched hole for attaching straps, chains or lanyards.  The cards are hard-wearing, fade-resistant and shatterproof. As with all our products they are not waterproof and cannot withstand machine washing or prolonged soaking, but they will survive an occasional splash.

The design is printed on photographic film which is then sealed onto the card by a layer of clear protective vinyl, the corners rounded and edges smoothed. This construction method allows for the production of single cards and small batches without the need for expensive print and machinery set-up. This means that ID cards can be supplied very quickly and at sensible prices. `
